ABOUT US

Out of Concept is an international photography collective that brings together artists who share a passion for creative exploration, visual storytelling, and contemporary photographic expression. Our mission is to build a community where photographers can collaborate, exchange ideas, support one another, and grow through shared artistic challenges. We believe that creativity thrives in connection — and that every perspective enriches the whole.

The collective was founded by photographer and game designer Jovan Svorcan (1971) as a natural continuation of the successful “Out of Concept” photo contest, which attracted participants from around the world and received exceptional feedback. Inspired by this enthusiasm, Jovan created a lasting space dedicated to experimentation, free expression, and meaningful artistic dialogue.

Based in Belgrade, he works at the intersection of visual art and digital innovation. His photographic journey began in his teenage years, and since transitioning to digital in 2008, he has explored minimalist, abstract, geometric, conceptual, and street photography. Since 2024, he has actively participated in international exhibitions and competitions, earning 86 medals, including 27 gold, and 44 diplomas across 65 exhibitions. Among his recent achievements, he proudly highlights 3rd place in the individual category and a commendation for his collection at the 69th exhibition of the Photo Association of Serbia. For him, photography is not only visual — it is emotional, philosophical, and deeply personal.

Out of Concept continues this vision by offering photographers opportunities to grow, connect, and share their work through:

  • Online exhibitions – curated showcases featuring members and invited artists

  • Photo contests – open challenges with results presented through exhibitions on our website

  • Workshops, themed challenges, and discussions
